Higher Education Scholarships

Emeritus Professor Kym Adey AM is an accomplished sculptor who approached the organisation with the idea of establishing a scholarship for clients to act as an encouragement, and help ease the financial burden of attending university. In common with the philosophy of Catherine House, Professor Adey holds a passion and a strong belief in the power of education to change lives.

He has developed a series of 16 quite beautiful and graceful sculptures, with a varying limited edition available of each. The sculptures were first displayed at the inaugural Catherine House major art exhibition - chART - that was held in October 2010, to much public acclaim. In May 2011, the scholarship was officially launched at a dinner event and subsequently sculptures were displayed at an exhibition held at Aptos Cruz Galleries, Stirling, again to much public acclaim.

Currently (June 2011) 39 sculptures have been sold. Sale proceeds and a very generous $43,000 in accumulated government grants has meant that presently the scholarship has funds of around $100,000. As a result, there will be a three-year $10,000 scholarship released in 2012, which is great news.
